On July 27th, 2024, the Viles & Beckman Foundation, Inc. hosted its highly anticipated Back2School Backpack Giveaway event at the Viles & Beckman building in Fort Myers. This vibrant community gathering, held from 11 am to 2 pm, was a resounding success, bringing joy, support, and much-needed school supplies to hundreds of children in our community.
The event was a delightful affair, featuring a range of fun activities for families. Attendees enjoyed mouthwatering food off the grill, refreshing Snow Cones from Kona Ice, and creative face painting, among other exciting activities. The air was filled with laughter and gratitude as over 200 backpacks filled with essential school supplies were distributed to children, ensuring they are well-prepared for the upcoming school year. Additionally, extra backpacks and supplies were donated to a local church and ProjectAccess within the Lee County School Board, extending the event’s impact even further.

We were touched by the heartfelt feedback from attendees. Mike V., a grateful parent, shared his appreciation: “Thank you all so much! My babies and me are extremely grateful for the backpacks and school supplies, and the food and activities – we had a blast!” Such comments truly underscore the importance and impact of our efforts.
The Viles & Beckman Foundation, Inc. was founded in 2023 by Michael Beckman, Kayla Grayson, and the late Marcus Viles with a clear mission: “Empowering Young Minds, Illuminating Futures.” Our goal is to empower underprivileged youth in Southwest Florida to reach their full potential. In just one year, we have raised thousands of dollars to support initiatives like the Back2School event, scholarships for college-bound students, and various youth development programs throughout the community.
